The Leading Lady

Together with your on site coordinator, Rene, The Marlin Hunter team is ready to help you plan the Baja adventure you’ve always wanted. Rene and her team are your go to local support for planning and personalized services.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, and now based in Cabo San Lucas, Rene brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to villa hosting. After living and working around the world — including Paris, London, Dubai, and New York — she chose Baja for its rare mix of desert, sea, and community.

With over 8 years of experience hosting in Cabo, she manages multiple five-star villas and is known for creating spaces that feel both well-designed and genuinely comfortable. Her background in hospitality includes owning a coffee shop in Toronto and serving as a Superhost for a historic loft used for film and photography.

Today, she works closely with guests to ensure every stay runs smoothly, from arranging airport transportation and excursions to booking private chefs and in-villa massages. With property managers located nearby, support is always close at hand — allowing guests to relax and enjoy the experience knowing everything is taken care of.

Our founder, Frank, better known as “The Marlin Hunter,” has spent a lifetime chasing what he loves most — time in nature, on the water, and far from the noise of everyday life. Raised in Alberta, Canada, he grew up fishing mountain lakes and hunting open country. His adventures eventually took him all over the world, but it was Cabo San Lucas that kept calling him back. The wildness of Baja, the rhythm of the ocean, and the pull of the marlin hooked him for good.

The Marlin Hunter was born from that — not just to fishing, but to the raw beauty of Baja itself. Frank wanted to create something that let others feel what he’s always felt out here: the calm before a strike, the heat of the sun off the water, and the kind of thrill you only find at sea.

Today, The Marlin Hunter is more than a name — it’s a way to experience Cabo as it was meant to be. Through our luxury villas, private charters, and custom Baja adventures, we invite you to see this place the way locals and lifelong fishermen do — up close and with a deep respect for the ocean.
